When our son was 2, he and his dad took a 20-minute walk down our short driveway. This scene is burned into my mind because it represented the innocence of childhood experiencing the awesomeness of God. Although I knew the answer I asked my husband, “Why did the walk take so long?” “Because every few feet he would stop, pick up an acorn, and study this creation with intense curiosity.” Whether you stop to smell the roses, or pick up acorns, take time to slow down, enjoy life, and celebrate God’s creation.
